Here’s an opening litany based on 1 John 3:1-7, one of the suggested readings for the third Sunday after Easter. It was written by Rev. Richard J. Fairchild.
Welcome and Call to Worship
(1 John 3:1-7)
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God,
and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
And also with you.
How great is the love that the Father has lavished on us,
that we should be called children of God.
The reason the world does not know us is that it does not know him.
Beloved, now we are God's children;
what we will be has not yet been made known.
But we know that when he appears we shall be like him,
for we shall see him as he is.
