Mennonite Benediction

Here’s a 16th century benediction, from Menno Simons.

Benediction

All you who have tasted the kindness of the Lord, love Him.
The Lord keeps the upright.
Be of good cheer, and doubt not;
for the Lord will strengthen your souls,
all who patiently wait for His coming.
The Lord reigneth, let the people tremble;
he sitteth between the cherubim; let the earth be moved.

— Menno Simons, in a letter to John of Leiden (1535).  Posted on Rusty Parts, a blog by Isaac (a Mennonite pastor), and Jason (a web developer and church intern).
