Here’s a prayer of commitment based on John 1, one of the suggested scripture readings for the third Sunday of Advent, Year B (December 11, 2011). It was written by A. Osdieck from The Center for Liturgy at Saint Louis University.
Prayer of Commitment
(based on John 1: 6-8, 19-28)
He came for testimony, to testify to the light,
so that all might believe through him.
Send us too,
like John,
Lord.
Let us
be your voice
crying out in the desert.
