Lord we see the world around us in decay,
and we see the darkness in our own hearts.
We long for a day when your light shines before us all;
and we see the darkness in our own hearts.
We long for a day when your light shines before us all;
when death is truly crushed forever,
when evil is punished and justice reigns.
when evil is punished and justice reigns.
As we live our lives in this fallen world,
help us see the suffering around us,
and as you are compassionate with us in our brokenness,
may we be compassionate to those in need.
help us see the suffering around us,
and as you are compassionate with us in our brokenness,
may we be compassionate to those in need.
Keep us from being lost in our comfort,
from turning away from those who suffer,
and let us love them as you have loved us.
Amen.
from turning away from those who suffer,
and let us love them as you have loved us.
Amen.
