Easter Hymn

Here’s another new hymn text for Easter.  It was written by Christopher Idle.

Through all the world let Christ be known
(Meter: 8.8.8.8 LM)

Through all the world let Christ be known;
his name and power be praised today!
The stone the builders threw away
has now become our cornerstone.

For Jesus Christ of Nazareth
by violent hands was crucified;
rejected and disowned, he died,
but God has raised him up from death.

His Spirit like a fountain poured
instills in us such power and peace
that, moved by love, we cannot cease
to share what we have seen and heard.

Salvation comes by Christ alone;
no other name on earth is given
to bring us life, to give us heaven;
through all the world let Christ be known!
