If you’re looking for a song to use at the start of worship on Palm Sunday, perhaps this Hosanna in the Highest might meet your needs. (See below -- click on the image to enlarge.)
I wrote the song for use during a Palm Sunday processional, but it could also be sung in response to the reading of Scripture (especially Psalm 118 or the story of Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
The song would probably work best with a rehearsed ensemble, choir, or worship team, but it’s simple enough that the congregation can easily join in—I’d just teach them the melody line of part one. It’s easy enough that the children could sing along, too.

The song is written in two parts. You can use just one part or both, or sing the two parts at the same time.
You might want to begin with just the melody in part one, and then gradually add the other voices (alto, bass, tenor) in turn. Adding hand drums or other percussion would be great if you’ve got them. A good bass guitar would add a lot, too. There’s no set way of performing this piece—feel free to experiment!
Feel free to use this piece as you wish. If you do happen to use it, I’d love to hear about it!
