Final Blessing: Christmas

Here are some sending words for Christmas worship, written by Darren and posted on his Planet Telex blog.

Final Blessing

We have celebrated the news of the angels with music and dance,
We have followed the journey of faith of the eastern astrologers
   and rejected the superficiality of the commercial Christmas,
We have remembered the poor and the broken
   for whom the commercial Christmas is not good news,
We have paid homage to the baby Jesus,
   who came to be good news to the poor
   and a stumbling block to the self-sufficient and powerful,
We have remembered that the cradle led to the cross;
   and by partaking in bread and wine
   we have nailed our colours to the mast
   as followers of the Way of Jesus
   along with his followers from every age and every place.
Let us go in to supper
   and then to continue to live out his love, his way, in the world. Amen
